How the work is done

Most training deals only with what you can do with a ball. This deals with the athlete underneath it: mind, body and spirit.

  • On-court skill work

Ball handling, finishing, shooting mechanics and decision-making, built around what your game actually needs next.

  • Habits that hold

The standard you keep when nobody is watching. Accountability between sessions, not just during them.

  • Film and feedback

What the tape says, explained plainly, so you can see the pattern instead of being told about it.

  • Mentorship

Trained by someone who has been through lessons, slumps, wanting to transfer, pursuit of maximizing abilities, and learning to serve a team.

Who this is for

Youth through high school, college and pro. A small roster on purpose: limited hours, full intentionality with every athlete.

Why basketball

Most sports ministries have to graft the gospel onto a game. Basketball is the one sport that started there.

  • Invented by a minister

James Naismith, a theology graduate on track for the pulpit, built the game in 1891 at a YMCA — he believed he could reach more young men through athletics than through a sermon.

  • Designed for character

His rules were moral choices, not just practical ones: no running with the ball, no tackling. Skill, self-control and teamwork over brute force. A laboratory for character, on purpose.

  • Carried by mission

The game went around the world through YMCA missionaries. Its global reach is, historically, a mission story.

  • Picking the ball back up

Maderite Hoops is not adding faith to basketball. It is returning the game to its original purpose: forming the whole person.
